Product Overview
The DFW-12 series cable distribution boxes are designed for outdoor use, featuring a fully sealed construction and achieving an enclosure protection rating of IP33. The cable joint brackets are made from stainless steel, while the outer casing is crafted from high-quality 2mm-thick stainless steel sheet. Inside the box, a top plate within the cable compartment divides the space into two distinct sections: the busbar room and the cable compartment.
The busbar chamber is a sealed compartment constructed from 2mm-thick steel plates. The cable joint supports are located at the upper part of the busbar chamber, providing support for the bushings, which in turn secure the cable joints—each set with an inter-phase distance of 180mm. If the design includes surge arresters, these are installed at the tail end of the cable joints. Additionally, short-circuit indicators and live-display devices are also mounted within the busbar chamber. All energized components inside the busbar chamber undergo rigorous insulation treatment using silicone rubber coating. Meanwhile, the cable compartment, situated at the lower portion of the busbar chamber, serves as the entry and exit point for cables; it is equipped with cable clamps and grounding terminals for secure cable installation.

At the upper part of the busbar chamber, there’s a cable joint support structure designed to hold the bushings, which in turn secure the cable joints—each positioned at a consistent 180mm spacing. Manufactured using high-quality, imported insulating rubber via fully automated injection molding, this product features semiconductor shielding layers on both its inner and outer surfaces. The inner layer ensures uniform distribution of the internal electric field, while the outer shielding layer grounds the cable termination, maintaining a zero potential at its surface. At the lower end of the stress cone, the inner semiconductor layer makes tight contact with the cable's semiconductor shield, and the outer semiconductor layer is securely connected to the cable termination's external semiconductor layer—both of which are then grounded through the termination's dedicated grounding hole. This design not only eliminates the risk of electric field concentration at the point where the cable's outer shielding layer is interrupted but also keeps the outer shield at zero potential, ensuring maximum safety for personnel.
The touchable cable rear connector is installed onto the touchable cable front connector via a coupling, and its rear end can further accommodate another rear connector through the same coupling, enabling multi-way branching. Alternatively, it can be connected to a surge arrester to provide overvoltage protection for the power grid.Double-walled casing and single-walled casing
The double- or single-pass casing is used to support the cable’s front connector. The core of the double-pass casing forms part of the busbar, and the casing itself is molded from epoxy resin material and secured to the cable connector bracket using screws.
Short-Circuit Fault Indicator
Installed on incoming/outgoing cables or branch cables within the tap-off box, the indicator light flashes when a fault current flows, enabling line patrol personnel to quickly locate the fault and minimize power outage duration. The robust, weather-resistant plastic housing is designed to withstand even the harshest environmental conditions—and can even be submerged in water.
