TBB-10 High-Voltage Reactive Power Automatic/Local Compensation Device
- Product Description

Product Overview
The TBB-10 High-Voltage Reactive Power Automatic/Local Compensation Device is designed for automatic reactive power tracking compensation on 35kV and 10kV (6kV) busbars in 220kV, 110kV, and 35kV substations. It is particularly suited for applications in 3–35kV three-phase 50Hz AC power systems where load fluctuations are significant, and centralized compensation alone fails to meet system requirements—often leading to either overcompensation or undercompensation. This device continuously monitors the system’s reactive power needs in real time, compares them against preset values, and automatically performs intelligent switching operations to dynamically balance the system’s reactive power. As a result, it helps improve the system’s power factor, stabilize voltage levels, reduce energy losses, and ultimately lower electricity costs.
Ordering Instructions (Please specify when placing your order)
1. Main circuit scheme number, purpose, single-line system diagram, arrangement drawing, and distribution room layout plan, etc.
2. Schematic diagram of the auxiliary circuit wiring and terminal arrangement diagram.
3. Model, specifications, and quantity of electrical components within the switchgear.
4. Requirements for control, measurement, and protection functions of switching equipment, as well as requirements for other interlocking and automatic devices.
5. If bus bridges are required to connect switchgear units or incoming feeder cabinets, please provide specific data such as the rated current-carrying capacity of the bus bridge, its span length, and the height from the ground.
6. When attachments or spare parts are needed, please specify the type and quantity required.
7. If switchgear is to be used in special environmental conditions, please provide detailed specifications when placing your order.
Structural Features
● Equipped with ZKG or ZGKN-type controllers, it automatically tracks capacitor switching and controls the on-load tap changer of the main transformer, ensuring that both the power factor and system voltage remain within the set limits.
● Capable of automatically identifying and adapting to various operating modes in substations with dual main transformers.
● A remote automatic switching device allows flexible selection of various operation modes for voltage regulation and compensation.
● Automatically identifies and displays tap position information via BCD code or one-to-one correspondence. Features include synchronized adjustment of two main transformer tap positions, anti-slip functionality, and control protection features such as light gas alarm interlock.
● Displays in real time the low-voltage side voltage, current, power factor, reactive power, capacitor switching status, and alarm & protection information of the main transformer.
● Features harmonic measurement display, enabling real-time measurement and visualization of higher-order harmonic content in the low-voltage side current.
● Features alarm and protection functions including high voltage, low voltage, PT disconnection, mechanism failure, and main transformer overcurrent.
● Equipped with high-speed RS-485 or RS-232 data communication interfaces, it seamlessly integrates with the substation’s integrated automation system to enable "four remote" functions.
● Equipped with modular high-voltage vacuum switches specifically designed for capacitors, up to five units can be installed within a single standard switchgear enclosure.
● Flexible grouping based on total compensation capacity—up to 6 groups can be created, even with unequal capacities. Each group can have a maximum capacity of either 2000 kVAr or 5000 kVAr, and switching is automatically managed according to reactive power requirements.
● Equipped with the ZSBH capacitor bank microcomputer protection device, this system provides two-stage overcurrent and zero-sequence voltage protection functions. If a particular group experiences a fault, it can automatically disconnect and lock out, ensuring that the normal switching of other capacitor groups remains unaffected.
● Configure reactors with different ratios to limit inrush current during closing and suppress higher-order harmonics.
