Product Overview
A cable distribution box is a device used to tap, branch, splice, and switch cable circuits, and it is typically installed outdoors. Cable distribution boxes are broadly categorized into two main types based on their electrical configuration: 1. The first type contains no switching equipment at all; instead, it includes only accessories designed for processing and connecting cable terminations. This type features a simpler structure, smaller size, and relatively limited functionality—it can be referred to as a "standard distribution box." 2. The second type not only incorporates the accessories found in standard distribution boxes but also includes one or more switching devices. As a result, this type has a more complex design, larger dimensions, and a higher number of connecting components. It also demands advanced manufacturing techniques, making it more costly to produce—this is why it’s known as an "advanced distribution box."
Product Applications
Cable branching function: On a relatively long transmission line, using multiple small-area cables can often lead to cable wastage. Therefore, in the setup from the main feeder to the point of electrical load, a large-capacity trunk cable is typically employed for the initial distribution. As the cable approaches the load, a cable distribution box is used to split the trunk cable into several smaller-area cables, which then directly supply power to individual loads. This wiring method is widely adopted in urban power grids—for applications such as street lighting and powering small-scale users.
